Welcome to JoJo's website!!
Born in Germany, Jonas drummed on pots and pans as soon as he was able to hold the wooden spoons in his mums kitchen.
He began taking drum lessons at the age of seven and was under the instruction of Dirk Brand from 2001-2011.
Before moving to the USA in 2012, he performed many shows in Germany and Switzerland of various musical styles, from long concerts with the Party Symphony Orchestra to rock festivals like Big Day Out with his original band "Schattenfänger".
Aligning with his passion for the sound & feel of acoustic drums, Jonas claimed the Gold Title in Roland's V-Drum Championship in Frankfurt in 2009.
Jonas eventually made the move to Los Angeles to study intensely with drum & percussion legends & pioneers, such as Joe Porcaro, Ralph Humphrey, Matt Starr, Dave Beyer, Mike Packer, Aaron Serfarty & Richie Garcia, just to name a few.
Jonas gained his degree from the Los Angeles College of Music with an A.A. Degree in Music Performance.
Jonas is currently playing in and around LA with pop-artists Alexa Villa and Willow Stephens. He is also the primary drummer of locally famous 80s Band "The Flux Capacitors", who have performed on stage with artists RUN DMC, Clive Farrington (When In Rome), Johnny Vatos & John Avila of Oingo Boingo, Tiffany, Prescott Niles (The Knack, Missing Persons) and Deon Estus (George Michael).
In November - December 2019 Jonas spent time in China as the primary drummer for Piano Virtuoso, Giovanni Marradi.
In 2020 he started his drum recording studio in North Hollywood:
"[...] because all that matters is that somebody is playing something that gives some kind of pleasure or relief or inspiration to somebody else, or at least to themselves. At that point, it doesn’t really matter what you do."
